Short answer
The X-T30 packs the X-T3’s 26.1MP sensor and X-Processor 4 into a 383g body at half the price. It has 16 film simulations, no in-body stabilisation and no weather sealing.
The X-T30 was the moment Fujifilm’s small body stopped being the compromise choice. Same sensor as the flagship, same processor, same autofocus, in something that fits in a jacket pocket with a pancake lens.

What it shares with the X-T3
The sensor and processor, which means identical image quality and the same autofocus engine. Also 4K video and the 30 fps cropped burst mode.
What it does not share: weather sealing, the second card slot, the bigger viewfinder, the headphone socket and the larger battery.
Buying one used
It is one of the cheapest routes to X-Trans 4 image quality. The main things to check are the small grip, which some people find cramped with anything larger than a 35mm prime, and the rear command dial, which was a common failure point on early units.
Note that it has 16 simulations, not 18: no Classic Negative and no Bleach Bypass. The X-T30 II added both.

Verdict
A used X-T30 is one of the best value cameras in photography, but check whether the X-T30 II is only slightly more. The simulation set alone often justifies the difference.
